Preparing for your Float Therapy Session:

We do make several recommendations to ensure your float is the best experience, every time!
The Day of Your Float:
• New clients need to arrive 15 minutes before appointment time. • Avoid shaving, tanning, waxing—or anything else that would increase the sensitivity of your skin. (Do not use self-tanner/spray tan 5 days prior to Float)
• We provide Vaseline in each Suite to protect any small cuts and grazes from stinging!
• You must wait 5 days after coloring your hair. Epsom salt is a great hair volumizer and has NO effect on hair colors or dyes. However, floating is not allowed within 5 days of new hair coloring or treatment as it can ruin the pristine water in our tanks.
• We encourage clients to avoid caffeine for at least 4 hours before floating for the most relaxing experience.
• Women experiencing their menstrual cycle the day of their float should prepare as they would if they were going to a public pool.
• We recommend eating something small prior to your float, but allowing at least 30 minutes to digest before your appointment.
What to Bring:
• There’s a lot of salt in our float spas. Thus, it is best to avoid wearing your “best clothes”. We recommend comfortable garments that are easy to change in and out of.
• We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and towels. You may want to bring flip flops, a brush or a comb.
• We encourage clients to float nude for the greatest experience—the float room is private and features its own shower and changing area. Of course, feel free to bring a swimsuit if you prefer.
• Music – Some people just want to float in a weightless environment and listen to music without sensory deprivation. Our tanks are equipped with Spa music, which can be shut off, should you choose.
• Your hair will get wet. You may choose to bring a swim cap, but it is not always effective
• Those under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted to float.
• Please make sure to use the restroom before you float.
The Float Experience:
1. Arrive 15 minutes before you check in, especially for your first time. The Float Host, will ask you to sign in and show you the restrooms and your float room.
2. Make-up wipes, ear plugs, Vaseline, towels, and washcloths will be set out for you.
3. We recommend putting your earplugs in prior to your shower. Ear plugs are optional. If you don’t wear the ear plugs we recommend using ear drops afterwards. You can mix 1/4 cup white vinegar with 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol.
4. Take a short pre-shower.
5. To protect any small abrasions or cuts from stinging you may apply Vaseline provided to these areas.
6. If you prefer to keep hair dry, you may wear a swim cap, but not always effective.
7. Your Attendant will press the appropriate button to begin your float session.
8. You may leave your Pod’s lid open, propped, or closed for your float. The lid is on hydraulic arms and opens easily when pushed. It does not lock or latch.
9. Lie back gently; the buoyancy of the water will effortlessly support you.
10. Once your session has started you will have access to your control buttons—including your light and music.
11. The float has ended once your Pod’s filtration system comes on and the water starts to move. Don’t worry, if you doze off and miss your queue to exit, we will let you know the session has ended via your Float Pod’s intercom!
12. You are in full control of your light (which features a variety of options) during your session. We recommend turning it off for the deepest experience—but this will always be up to you.
13. Refrain from touching your face while in the Float Pod to avoid getting salt into your eyes. We provide a squirt bottle of fresh water in each pod as a precaution!
14. Initially, pain or tension in the body may seem more noticeable. This is due to the float’s ability to eliminate the typical distractions we face. Simply breathe and know that this is normal. As the session progresses sensations will dissipate.
15. Take a post float shower (15 minutes allotted) to rinse all the salt away and get dressed.
16. If there is a client waiting, we ask that you do your makeup and hair in the restroom.
17. Feel free to spend some time with refreshments and if you would like to journal your experiences paper is available. Drink plenty of water after your session!
